Auf alle Fälle zwei sehenswerte Ausstellungen der jungen Absolventin der Universität für Angewandte Kunst in Wien, die im Februar 2009 bei uns in der Galerie mit einer Einzelausstellung zu sehen war.

Detaillierte MUSA Ausstellungsbeschreibung siehe unten stehend:

Open call EXCHANGE RADICAL MOMENTS!

Call for proposals for a Europe-wide art festival.

By 30 September 2010 please let us know your project ideas, no matter how sketchy they are, and send them to moments@fabrikanten.at. Please include a short biography in your proposal.

What is being exchanged?

* Ideas and projects dedicated to the (re-)activation, the inventive (and resourceful) handling of public space

* Experiences from sub-cultures, counter-cultures, from the social outbound(-cast) districts, the margins of society

* Objects and symbols, that enable and open up via exchange new outlooks concerning systems and networks

* And “radical moments” that take place in and between encounters; moments that have a certain magical impact on the involved peoples

* Questions that characterize the urban utopia

Two questions to consider in the proposal:

How does the „exchange“ between the people within your project happen, what are the dynamics of exchange? What does this „radical moment,“ the moment that forged the exchange, look like

Finissage of exhibition

Finissage: 29th May 2010 11.00 a.m. – 2.00 p.m.
Opening: 6th May 2010 at 7.00 – 10.00 p.m.
Duration: 7th May – 28th May 2010

We would like to cordially invite you to the finissage of the exhibition "Error" by Paul Ott this Saturday, 29th May 2010 from 11.00 a.m. - 2.00 p.m. at para_SITE Gallery in Graz, Austria.

Emanating from analogue photography whereupon the photographer could totally control the outcome of the picture and every error has been traceable, in digital photography for reasoning of technical processes this is not always possible.

The work series “Error” takes its point of departure in an image processing failure of Paul Ott’s digital camera which the photographer makes use of to create abstract imagery that illustrate and visualize the error process.

Departing from the crash of the camera and the hereby-produced imagery a body of work is created that distinguishes itself through abstract finalisation and minimalistic colour fields.

By means of magnification and post-processing the error process is visualized and given artistic expression by Paul Ott.

The original motive becomes abstract and remains unknown to the external viewer.

The result is a body of work that is defined by a clear and reduced handwriting that inspire the viewer to own interpretations and associations.

The exhibition has been realised in co-operation with the public construction authority of the Austrian county Styria and is staged in the framework of the design month Graz.

With friendly support from Landesbaudirektion Steiermark, BMUKK, Stadt Graz, Medienfabrik & Designer.innen
