YACA gives artists a space and the freedom to develop an interesting work, designed for the exhibition, in order for their work to flourish and to be exposed to a broad public. This should prepare the path and give way to their future in the international art context and start careers that a worth to be followed. YACA is an exhibition series that invites artists to come to Graz in Austria for a two weeks residency and in this time develop a project that will at the end of this period be presented in an exhibition in the para_SITE Gallery. The exhibition will be on show for three weeks and at the opening there will take place an artist discussion with a renowned curator or critic debating about the artists work and putting it in context of the current art debate.

At the end of each exhibition an artist discussion transcribed fanzine will be published as well as the video documentation of the discussion. At the end of the year a catalogue with all the fanzines will be published, the design of the catalogue will be commissioned by means of an open call that an international design Jury will decide upon. Along the lines of Duchamp's we like to “keep it simple” and “work with what we find” without trying to influence or imposture upon the artists and their works.
